Speaker's Comments on President Trump Visit

Thank you for contacting me about the Speaker's comments on the upcoming visit by President Trump.

All members are responsible for their own statements in the House, including the Chair.
By convention, any request for a visiting Head of State to address Parliament is agreed jointly between the Commons Speaker, the Lord Speaker and the Lord Great Chamberlain.

I note that no details of the proposed itinerary of a state visit from the President of the United States have been issued and so discussion about any invitation to address Parliament is conjecture.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact me.
