Looking forward to Old Town Week
We’ve just reached the end of the longest Parliament session since the English Civil War ending in 1651 and it has certainly been one of the most interesting!
I’m looking forward to some time away from Westminster and working hard for Hastings.

And in Hastings, it is that time of year again where we all come together to celebrate what a fantastic community we have in our town.
Hastings old town Carnival week will begin on Saturday 3 August and is sure to be a week filled with many fun and exciting events, I know I am looking forward to several events and especially the parade on Saturday 10 August. Our historic Old Town week has been happening since 1968, so it's no surprise that Hastings is a tourism hotspot in the UK!
Helping local causes and charities, the events are organised by volunteers. From Onion eating to the Old Town country market, there truly is something for everyone to enjoy! But most importantly, don’t miss out on the Grand Carnival Parade which takes place at 5pm on 10 August.

This week will be a time to reflect on the unique and tremendous community spirit that our town has and I am proud to be the MP for an area which has such culture and heritage.
I know everyone is looking forward to carnival week as much as I am, and I hope to see you about in the town for what looks like another very successful one. I wish everyone an enjoyable summer with time to relax with friends and family.
Yours sincerely,
Amber Rudd MP
